The School of Advanced Studies (SAS) invites 10th and 11th graders to participate in the “You. University. Future” Intensive Competition. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience academic life at one of the most interdisciplinary institutions in the world. Winning the competition allows participants to earn bonus points towards their Unified State Exam results when applying to SAS.

Participation in the Intensive costs — 15,000 rubles for three days of the event.

About the Intensive

The “You. University. Future” Intensive Competition allows prospective students to immerse themselves in a rigorous and interdisciplinary academic environment at SAS. Participants will gain firsthand experience of what it is like to study at SAS and explore potential academic interests.

First held in 2021, the Intensive has attracted over 450 10th and 11th graders from more than 35 regions across Russia. The program is conducted in English, providing participants with an excellent opportunity to improve their language proficiency.

During the Intensive, participants will:

  • Attend Seminars: Engage in thought-provoking seminars led by SAS professors from diverse international backgrounds, coming from 10 different countries;

  • Work on Interdisciplinary Cases: Collaborate in small groups on complex cases, utilizing AI and moderated by SAS students;

  • Participate in Panel Discussions: Learn about the state of contemporary higher education and the future of the job market;

  • Interact with SAS Students: Explore the SAS experience directly from current students, who will share their stories of university life.

How to participate

To participate, 11th graders should submit an application form, available here. Additionally, applicants must submit a 1–3 minute video in English answering the following question:

If artificial intelligence becomes a “super-student” capable of instantly imparting knowledge and even creating new artifacts, then what, in that case, is the mission of the educator and the value of the learner? Reimagine the traditional roles in the classroom and propose educational practices that will cultivate not what we know, but how and why we know it — thus shaping the future of human legacy.

  • Answer the question, highlighting your main point within the first 10-15 seconds.

  • Choose an appropriate background and avoid reading from a script to ensure a natural delivery.

  • Cite any sources if you reference others’ work.

Where does the Intensive take place?

The Intensive is held at the School of Advanced Studies (SAS) building in Tyumen, located at 8 Marta St., 2 Bldg. 1.

Is there a selection process?

Yes, participants are selected based on their video submission and completed application form. Please ensure all information is submitted correctly.

Will meals be provided?

Yes, SAS will provide meals for all participants throughout the event.

Is accommodation provided?

No, SAS does not provide accommodation, but we can recommend nearby hotels.
