The Endless Future and Human Limitations Summer School
The School of Advanced Studies (SAS) welcomes the 9th and 10th-grade students to join the Endless Future and Human Limitations Summer School from June 17 to 21, 2024.
summer school theme
We are on the brink of a future dominated by artificial intelligence (AI) and an ever-increasing emphasis on algorithmic thinking in all aspects of our lives. Such a rationalized world poses a risk of overshadowing our human intuition, creativity, and empathy. As algorithmic tasks are being outsourced to AI, there is an increasing demand for a higher mode of thinking that arises from human elements. The Summer School theme focuses on this critical juncture, promoting a more nuanced and life/human-affirming basis.
what we are offering
As part of a memorable educational experience, the week-long Summer School focuses on life affirmation and human spontaneity. Participants work with professors from different countries who obtained their PhD degrees from world leading universities. The Summer School is an endeavor for high school students to be immersed in a world-class higher education institution and to enhance their English language skills.
Participants engage in a variety of educational formats that approach the School theme from different vantage points; they encounter various academic fields and practices. These formats include seminars, workshops, project work, morning discussions, and finally creative games.
The entire Summer School program is carried out in the English language. It is essential that participants have a good command of English to ensure a meaningful engagement and benefit from the experience. Outstanding participants at the Summer School will be awarded a bonus of 10 points to their state exam results should they choose to apply to SAS.
