Production in Film and Media

Production in film and media — a practice-oriented course that builds on the discipline Project development in film and media. At this stage, students begin the course with already developed ideas and concepts and continue developing them to the stage of full-scale production.

Throughout the course, students thoroughly study and go through the key stages of media production: pre-production, production, and post-production. Special attention is given to planning, organizing the filming process, teamwork, and coordination between producing, directing, and technical departments. Students learn to turn an idea into a concrete production plan, prepare a project for shooting, work on set, and refine the material to the final result.

The culmination of the course is the creation of a commercial video project based on a previously developed idea. The project goes through all stages of production and post-production, and the final video material becomes a completed professional piece for the students’ portfolios. he key feature of the course is its hands-on approach. Learning is based on working with real-world tasks and the filming process. Students are guided through their projects by professionals from the film and media industry, which brings the learning process closer to the professional environment and current industry standards.
