Normality and Abnormality in Human Corporeality

The course is oriented towards a systematic study of the human body through the lens of various determinants across different spheres of human activity – from philosophy and art to law and economics. It is built on the principles of active learning and encourages participation in bold intellectual experiments.

Students will critically analyze the social and political mechanisms that influence the perception of the human body, employing an interdisciplinary approach. A distinctive feature of the course is its flexible structure, allowing student teams to choose specific research directions. These may include various criteria of normality and abnormality, as well as diverse areas of their manifestation. This approach enables the achievement of differentiated educational outcomes, allowing each participant to fully realize their potential in the field that best aligns with their interests and professional goals.

This interdisciplinary course will not only expand students' knowledge in body studies but also develop critical thinking skills necessary for understanding and analyzing complex sociocultural phenomena in the modern world.
