Sustainable Development: Theory and Practice
In this course, we study sustainable development as a conceptual framework, and illustrate with case studies from various contexts. This course is exploring the general technical and social issues around the concept of sustainability, millennium development goals (MDGs) and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The course explores the theoretical basis of sustainability from the natural sciences, political and economic perspectives and is aimed at learners who wish to engage with the challenges and potential solutions to sustainability at a conceptual level. It will then proceed to project management and evaluation in SDG context.
