Introduction to Economic History

The course is designed to explore world economic history, and it introduces both history and economics students to the subject matter and methodology of economic history. It is designed to expand the range of empirical settings in students’ research by drawing upon historical materials of development of the world economy and relevant historiography. Topics are chosen to show a wide variety of historical economic events and illuminate the processes of industrialization and globalization.
