Industrial Organization

This is an advanced elective course which is designed to expand the students’ understanding of various interactions present in economic environments – an area of economics called Industrial Organization (IO). For instance, firm-consumer, firm-firm, and manager-worker interactions will be explored from both theoretical and practical standpoints.

The course is going to have sizable components linked directly to Game Theory and Experimental Economics. That is, game-theoretic models and economic experiments are going to be an integral part of the course. We will also discuss individual decision-making within the modern economy (e.g., labor market decision, financial decisions). Special measures are used to ensure that, on the one hand, knowledge from previous courses is not required, while, on the other hand, students will be asked to directly utilize the knowledge from the courses they have taken.
