Quantitative Methods for International Politics

To conduct sociological research within a qualitative strategy it is important to build the logic of the research, to record, interpret and present the results obtained.

The course describes the basic principles, stages, tactics and methods of conducting sociological research using qualitative methods of collecting, processing and analyzing sociological information.

Students are introduced to the strategy of qualitative sociological research; types of analysis (narrative and discourse analysis); tactics of qualitative sociological research (ethnographic, biographical, case study, etc.); methods of qualitative sociological research (observation, interview, visual sociology, content analysis of documents, focus group). Students acquire the skills of documenting the entire process of qualitative study.
