Advanced Microeconomics
This course is the second part of the microeconomics core course. The course will further help to apply an economic way of thinking to many aspects of modern society.
Students will immerse themselves in neoclassical microeconomic theory to study deviations from the standard competitive model. The course covers such topics as consumer theory, partial equilibrium, general equilibrium, welfare economics, and information economics. In total, the course is aimed at building analytical skills to understand the behavior of consumers and firms, and the functioning of real markets.
The course is a rigorous one, with a mathematical foundation, but it will be presented in a broadly accessible and understandable manner.
