Design Thinking

In the exploration of generating solutions that cater to the user needs, the decision-making process extends beyond mere transactional considerations. Whether making purchasing decisions, utilizing simple or complex tools, orchestrating holiday plans, seeking information, perusing news articles, navigating vehicles, or engaging with banking services, individuals inherently assume the role of users. It is imperative to recognize that a user transcends the role of a mere financial contributor, encapsulating a multitude of individuals with diverse needs, all united by the shared expectation of user-friendly, expeditious, and congenial solutions across various domains. This course is dedicated to elucidating the methodology behind crafting solutions that genuinely prioritize the user experience, rather than merely serving the interests of the creator.

Design thinking, heralded as a contemporary and efficacious developmental approach, underpins the course's framework. Although the fundamental principles of design thinking may be readily comprehensible, the efficacy of its application hinges on nuanced intricacies discernible only through the practical implementation of real-world projects. Consequently, students, as integral participants in the course, are afforded the opportunity to select topics that resonate with their interests, opt for collaborative team endeavors or pursue individualized modes of exploration. Employing the design thinking methodology, participants incrementally progress toward the development of bespoke solutions or the enhancement of existing ones. A culminating facet of the course involves a collective examination of the project development process and its resultant outcomes.

The creation of solutions for users is intricately tied to our cognitive approach to products and services. This involves choices such as inadvertent omissions, disproportionate emphasis on certain aspects, and the selection of specific procedural sequences. Design thinking, therefore, is framed as a cognitive paradigm offering an alternative lens for contemplating and refining solutions. Throughout the course, a vigilant self-awareness is maintained to scrutinize and align our cognitive frameworks with the genuine interests and expectations of the user.
