ESL: Academic Writing
The course aims to impart students with the fundamentals of academic writing, focusing on the nuances of crafting text summaries and various essay types. Through exposure to diverse reading and writing activities, students develop effective strategies for comprehending texts of various genres, honing their academic writing skills, and fostering critical thinking abilities. Additionally, the course seeks to enhance both general and academic vocabulary while refining grammar skills, with a specific focus on structures employed in academic writing.
Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the course aims to elevate students' communicative competencies across all four language learning areas: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. The skills acquired during the course are not only beneficial for other academic courses offered at SAS but also prove valuable in the graduates' subsequent professional contexts.
