History of Capitalism
This course examines the major developmental trajectories of capitalism in different countries, and how it has touched a wide array of people's lives.
Topics range from historical paths of capitalism and the analysis of forms of production to the impact of these factors on changing gender relations, configurations of work and leisure, forms of labor, ideology and beliefs. The syllabus includes a wide range of authors, from historians such as Fernand Braudel, to sociologists and philosophers.
