Student conference “Violence and Its Other: MeToo, Safezones, Nohatespeech and Eco-Activism in Modern Societies” organized by SAS and SotsGum will take place on November 9–10, 2019.
The topic of combating violence and abuse — both physical and verbal — has become a defining one in a number of communities. Exposing and protesting the practices of violence and abuse has become a universal moral imperative. But is the ethical position of exposure and condemnation so unequivocal? Can movements like #MeToo and eco-activism eradicate violence against people and nature? Is the offered alternative free from violence?
The working language of the conference is English.
To apply, please, submit your CV along with an abstract (300 words max) of the proposed contribution (paper presentation, panel discussion, workshop, etc.) to the email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Application deadline is October 20, 2019.
