Melina Aarnikoivu holds a PhD in applied linguistics, which she completed at the Centre for Applied Language Studies, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. In addition to being a Visiting Professor at SAS, she is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. In her current research, she is focusing on doctoral education, academic writing, as well as the potential of crowdsourcing and big data in qualitative higher education research.
Melina is also a Co-Leader of miNET research network, which gathers together Finnish-based researchers studying 21st century mobilities, migration, and internationalisation. Additionally, she is the Assistant Editor of the Journal of Praxis in Higher Education, which is committed to research aimed at the transformation of existing practices and conditions in higher education. Finally, Melina is a Joint Lead Editor of the ECHER blog, an online space for sharing information, experience, advice and opinion about the art, craft, and practice of doing research in the field of higher education.
